KPK Notices the Making of KONI Grant Fund Proposal

Jurnal Utama. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) looks at making proposals for the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) to submit grants to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora). Non-governmental organizations suspect that an agreement was made when drafting the proposal.

"So how does the process in KONI certainly need to be explored further in accordance with the knowledge of the witnesses? The designation is of course also important," said KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Thursday (1/3).

Today's KPK has examined the KONI Planning Staff, Twisyono and Suradi. Febri said his party suspected that before the grant proposal was submitted there had been talks between the KONI management and Kemenpora.

"Because we suspect from the beginning before the proposal was submitted there had been talk between the KONI and the Kemenpora to allocate a portion of the grant when it was disbursed," he said.

In the case of alleged bribery of Kemenpora grant funds to KONI, the KPK determined five people as suspects.

From the Ministry of Youth and Sports there are three people who became suspects namely Deputy IV Kemenpora Mulyana, Kemenpora Commitment Making Officer Adhi Purnomo, and Kemenpora staff Eko Triyanto who allegedly played a bribe recipient in this case.

While from KONI are KONI Ending Secretary General Fuad Hamidy and General Treasurer Johnny E. Awuy. They allegedly acted as bribes.

As for the evidence obtained by KPK investigators in the form of Rp318 million in cash, a Rp100 million savings book on behalf of Johnny E. Awuy, cash in plastic packages amounting to Rp 7 billion, and one unit of Chevrolet Captiva owned by Eko Triyanto.

The KPK suspects the two parties have agreed to allocate a fee of Rp3.4 billion even before the proposal was submitted. The allocation of grants from Kemenpora to KONI amounted to Rp. 17.9 billion in the 2018 budget year.
